Ape the Label is on the hunt for a dynamic and detail-driven Fashion Designer & Procurement Manager to lead our product design, development and sourcing operations. This role blends creative vision with end-to-end execution, perfect for someone who loves fashion but thrives in spreadsheets too.

You’ll be responsible for designing trend-driven, bleach-proof clothing collections, managing supplier relationships, overseeing quality control and procurement, supporting marketing campaigns, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring collections to life, all while working within timelines and budget parameters.

Just as important as your experience is your energy. We deeply value collaboration, a positive mindset and you must thrive in a team environment, contributing to an uplifting and supportive workplace environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Fashion Design & Creative Direction

Design six apparel collections per year (10 - 14 pieces per collection), plus six accessory drops.

Collaborate with the team on design concepts, mood boards, fabric sourcing, and trend research.

Create packaging designs and branded materials including swing tags, labels, and bags.

Plan and execute photoshoots in collaboration with the Marketing Manager - develop creative briefs, have a hand in styling your pieces, oversee visual direction and shot lists.

Manage design and procurement expenses in alignment with approved budgets and ensuring collection profitability alongside business goals and growth strategies.

Fabric & Material Sourcing

Source and test durable, bleach-proof fabrics, trims, and embellishments.

Ensure all materials meet quality and performance standards before production.

Negotiate supplier pricing and sourcing decisions in line with budgets.

Procurement & Inventory Management

Manage the entire procurement lifecycle - from research and development, sample approvals to bulk production and re-ordering.

Coordinate order quantities, monitor stock levels and sell-through rates, track production timelines, and coordinate with manufacturers.

Monitor shipping and incoming stock to ensure seamless warehouse handover.

Maintain cost-efficiency in procurement while ensuring premium product quality.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination

Build strong relationships with suppliers and oversee communication, lead times, and issue resolution.

Work closely with freight and logistics partners to manage import schedules, taxes and deliveries.

Graphic Design Support

Collaborate with the marketing team to create design assets including social media content, email graphics, digital ads, and event collateral.

Design promotional materials aligned with brand guidelines.

What We’re Looking For:

A degree in fashion design, product development, or a related field.

Proven experience designing and developing collections in apparel or lifestyle brands.

Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign essential).

Exceptional organisational, project management and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Understanding of production timelines, procurement processes, and inventory planning.

Experience managing or working within budgets and reporting on sourcing and production costs.

A collaborative and communicative working style – you must enjoy working closely with others, giving and receiving feedback and contributing to a fun, respectful and fast paced team environment.

Why Join Ape the Label?
We're a cult-status fashion brand in the hairdressing space, known for our bleach-proof apparel and elevated, trend-led aesthetic.
