Woodrising Natural Learning Centre is a non-profit, long day care centre situated in beautiful Lake Macquarie. We cater for 39 children per day, aged 2-6 years. The centre proudly maintains an Exceeding NQS rating, with 6 out of 7 quality areas Exceeding as of March 2024.

Our centre has a beautiful natural, outdoor environment with a large, natural playground - complete with a trickle stream, mud pit, chickens, gardens and much more! We back on to bush land and implement a regular 'Bush School' program where we spend whole days in the bush land. We are passionate about providing an inquiry based curriculum for children. We are inspired by various theories and approaches including European Forest Schools and the educational approach in Reggio Emilia, Italy. We have a commitment to ongoing professional development.

We are seeking a motivated professional who is passionate about providing a high quality program to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, passion for the natural world and work harmoniously within a team. Training on Nature Connection is provided. The only requirements are, you are comfortable outdoors all year-round, enjoy bushwalks and out door bush excursions.

Full Time Diploma Early Childhood Educator. This is a programming position. The position will commence as soon as possible.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR BOTH POSITIONS

Diploma in Children's Services

Experience working in early childhood settings

A passion for nature pedagogy and a commitment to implementing our bush school program (we are happy to provide training)

Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and Early Years Learning Framework

Understanding of various Early Childhood theories and approaches

Ability to build relationships with children, families and staff

A team player who can integrate seamlessly with colleagues

Commitment to ongoing professional development

Understanding of Child Protection Responsibilities

Understanding of WHS responsibilities

2 employment related referees

A commitment to our service philosophy

Child protection qualification

Working with Children Check Clearance required

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

ACECQA approved First Aid Qualification

Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
