About the Role

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play an integral role in research programs that support bio security and pest management initiatives across the state. Working within a team of dedicated researchers and scientists, your responsibilities may include:

• Rearing, handling, and analysing live insect specimens
• Conducting laboratory-based experiments and field sample analysis
• Data entry, statistical processing, and interpretation
• Preparation of research reports and technical documents

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Practical laboratory experience, preferably in biological sciences
• A tertiary qualification in Bio science, Microbiology, Entomology, or a related field
• A keen interest in insect biology and agricultural research
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in enclosed laboratory settings
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and effective communication abilities
