About the role
Parliament of Tasmania offers a supportive environment to enable our employees to do the best work of their career. We’re looking to secure a new casual Vision Switcher.
The Vision Switcher is responsible for the technical operation of the video and audio switching equipment, ensuring smooth and professional broadcasts of parliamentary proceedings, and providing technical support for related events, to ensure optimal performance.
As a trusted colleague, you’ll have professional flexibility to perform the role whilst being empowered to build a sense of community at work. You’ll be reporting to the Manager Broadcast & Digital Services.
About Us
The Parliament of Tasmania is a meeting place where elected representatives meet to make laws, authorise the expenditure of public funds, scrutinise the government of the day, and give a voice to their constituents in the electorates. The Parliament is made up of three (3) separate Departments consisting of House of Assembly, Legislative Council, and Legislature - General.
Location
We foster a collaborative and engaging workplace. As such, this role is required to be performed in person and on site in Hobart.
We want to hear from you if you have
Appropriate qualification and/or experience in the operation of a television broadcast studio using industry standard equipment within an automated vision and audio environment.
Ability to manage live visual feeds and transitions with precision, ensuring seamless broadcasts and strict adherence to industry standards and guidelines.
Skilled in supporting the setup, configuration, and maintenance of control room equipment, demonstrating a strong technical acumen and attention to detail in pre- and post-broadcast operations.
Ability to work flexible hours and days to support organisational needs.
