ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

LED Light Rentals and Sales Pty Ltd is an industry leader in providing innovative renewable, sustainable energy and lighting solutions. We rent temporary lighting equipment, light towers, light trailers and associated equipment throughout Queensland to the construction, resource, and agriculture sectors.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team and work from our Ironbark workshop.

The Electrical Engineering Technician will be responsible for the fit out, testing and functional operation checks of electrical components, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards and meeting our clients’ specifications.

Tasks will include:

· Assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying, repairing and maintaining electrical components in Extra Low Voltage systems involving LED Luminaires, Solar and Battery Management systems to conform with Australian and New Zealand Standards, regulations and safety requirements

· Reviewing drawings and diagrams and assembling components as per design

· Assisting in the design and layout of electrical installations and circuitry on lighting, hydraulic, solar, battery and switching components

· Collecting data from tests and operation of electrical components, solar and lighting assemblies.

· Assisting with research and experimentation of new and existing products including assembly, testing, costing, reporting, data capture

The successful candidate will have

- a diploma in electrical engineering or similar, or at least three years’ relevant experience

- at least 3 years’ experience in similar role

- experience working with extra low voltage systems

- thorough working knowledge of electrical systems and circuits

- ability to use a range of hand tools such as drills, grinders, wire strippers/ crimps, soldering iron, screw drivers, sockets/ spanners etc

- good communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to create understandable reports and accurate records

- ability to innovate and problem solve

For a 40-hour week we will pay a base salary of $83 200 + superannuation.
