About the Role In this AO6 position, you’ll take charge of crafting and delivering comprehensive communication strategies to support key milestones of a significant infrastructure program. You’ll collaborate closely with project leaders, stakeholders, and the community to ensure transparency, foster trust, and enhance public awareness throughout the life of the project.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and implement communication and engagement plans aligned with project objectives.
• Lead public consultation and community engagement efforts, managing concerns and building trust.
• Write clear, engaging content across media releases, newsletters, social media, and briefings.
• Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and government agencies to ensure messaging is consistent and timely.
• Prepare speeches, presentations, and executive-level briefing materials.
• Provide strategic advice on media relations, issues management, and crisis communications.
• Evaluate engagement outcomes and continuously improve communication efforts.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

About You

• You have 5+ years’ experience in communications and community engagement, ideally within government, construction or infrastructure environments.
• You’re a confident communicator with exceptional writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• You’re experienced in managing sensitive or high-profile issues and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
• IAP2 certification (or willingness to obtain) is essential.
• A degree in communications, journalism, PR or marketing is highly regarded.
• A valid C-class driver’s licence
