Lead SOE Engineer

• Initial 12-months contract
• Seeking experience mentoring SOE & Desktop Engineers
• Strong experience with Windows, Linux, MacOs, Jamf etc

About the role:
In this leadership role, you will manage and mentor a team of SOE Engineers and Desktop Support Analysts, ensuring best-in-class support, incident resolution, and ongoing maintenance of the University's Windows and MacOS fleets using tools like Intune, SCCM, JAMF, and Group Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate SOE engineering activities and workloads.
• Maintain and support the University’s EUCD fleet and associated tools.
• Oversee and participate in incident and problem management, root cause analysis, and change implementation.
• Develop technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs.
• Champion user experience while driving innovation and compliance.

Key experience:

• Strong background in SOE packaging, deployment, and support for Windows 10, MacOS, and Office 365.
• Hands-on expertise with Active Directory, Intune, SCCM, JAMF, and enterprise endpoint management tools.
• Experience in application packaging (AppV, MSI) and scripting with PowerShell/VBScript.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.

Desirable:
ITIL Foundation Certificate.
7+ years of experience in a similar technical leadership role.
