In-line with its mission, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania (RMHC VIC & TAS) has dedicated more than 35 years to keeping families closer to their child with a serious illness who require treatment and support across Victoria and Tasmania.
What we're looking for:
We're seeking up to a casual Group Experience Host to work at our VIC Houses (Parkville, North Fitzroy, Clayton). The Group Experience Host role is responsible for facilitating the preparation of meals and other support for RMHC families, by hosting corporate and community groups in their group volunteering experiences. You will be part of the Corporate and Community Engagement team and will be hosting groups to deliver our Meals From the Heart, Baking with Love, Freezer Foods and Working Bee experiences.
This is a multi-site casual role.
What the role requires:
Ability to work across all locations - Monash (Clayton), North Fitzroy, Parkville houses
Flexibility to work a fluid roster driven by business needs
Availability to work evenings and some daytime shifts
A professional and values driven outlook in the workplace
Strong brand representation, and the ability to match and mirror to the tone of each group you hold
Ability to demonstrate empathy in catering to families and their needs in a complex environment
Ability to work autonomously or in teams – proven ability to work unsupervised
Ability to build high quality relationships to further advance beneficial partnerships
Data entry and administration
Event assistance as required
Current state-based Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check; or willingness to obtain one
Who are you?
Aside from a fun, energetic, passionate human you will feel comfortable hosting groups of up to 10 people, assisting with cooking tasks and working bees, liaising with team members who work directly with families, and sharing the stories and impact of RMHC Vic and Tas. You will know how to speak with people from all walks of life and be able to draw out opportunities for future engagement and revenue growth. You will be our face of RMHC, representing our brand to corporate groups, with the aim to steward further on-going relationships.
Ideally, you'll have:
Excellent communication and engagement skills
Confidence in a customer service environment
Experience in fundraising or business development
Self-motivation and the desire to work autonomously
Competency in Office and basic computer skills
