As the cook you will take on the responsibility for planning and implementing a nutritious, fresh exciting menu. You will provide high quality, nutritious meals in a safe and hygienic environment and work within a team of early childhood professionals to deliver an innovative, high quality and inclusive service building strong, meaningful relationships with children and families, and delivering the support of the SDN village to their lives.
About you
You will be a passionate, motivated and skilled cook with a special interest in children’s nutrition, inspiring a positive mealtime experience as well as healthy eating habits for children.
About the role
Part Time - Monday to Friday 6 hours
As a Centre Cook your role will be to plan and provide high quality, nutritious meals in a safe and hygienic environment and to communicate and establish positive relationships with the team and children.
About the team
SDN Macquarie Park is a purpose-built 90-place long day care centre and preschool, providing high quality care and learning in a safe and welcoming space that supports the inclusion of every child. Centrally located on a quiet street in Macquarie Park, this newly renovated
centre has been refurbished with design principles and concepts of inclusion and neurodiversity in mind. The outdoor space at this custom-built centre provides safe and stimulating environments for children to explore and learn and includes a bike track, sand pit and water play area. The open plan playground also includes a sensory area set into a landscaped garden which encouraging learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. There is a dedicated Autism Specific Program, specially designed for more intensive and targeted support for autistic children. This program is for children 4-5 years old with a diagnosis of autism and to support their transition to school. The centre also has a room for therapists to deliver therapy to children with a focus on building capacity of their families.
