We are currently recruiting a Childcare Cook/Chef for our established Sandhurst Childcare conveniently located in the beautiful Sandhurst Golf Estate!

We are a privately owned centre and at capacity our centre caters for up to 108 children with operating hours from 6.30am-6pm.

Our menus meet nutritional guidelines and are of high-quality, allowing young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically. As part of the team, you will feel appreciated, valued, and enjoy a truly supportive and fun work environment.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced cook/Chef who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals.

This position is permanent working Monday to Friday.

Ideally, candidates should have the following skills and experience:

Experience working as a cook in an Early Childhood setting.

Food safety supervisor certificate.

Current Working with Children's Check and police check (or willing to obtain)

Current first aid certificates

Current Mandatory Reporting training

Experience maintaining a food safety plan

Budgeting and ordering

Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy, guidelines and the Health Eating Advisory Service.

Allergy training

Have good time management skills.

Enjoy working with families, colleagues and children

Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with VIC Food and Council Authority requirements

Have 2 professional referees (industry specific)

Skills & experience:

current Working With Children's Check

certificate in Food Handling and Allergy

current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

current certificate in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma

Current Mandatory reporting certificate
