Our client, a well-established group Dermatology practice with two locations across Brisbane, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Medical Receptionist/Secretary. This permanent, full-time position is based from the Toowong practice, offering 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday offering the flexibility for the successful candidate to work a 9-day fortnight, with a rostered day off every second Monday.
As the first point of contact for this dynamic clinic, you will provide support to a group of Dermatologists and play a key role in the practice’s exciting plans for future expansion. Experience in a busy, collaborative specialist practice is essential for success in this role.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Meet and greet patients visiting the practice for consultations
Management of all patient consultations appointments including scheduling, cancelling, updating and rescheduling appointments as appropriate
Responding to all incoming correspondence via phones and email in a timely manner as well as managing outgoing communications to medical professionals and patients
Preparing and running patient clinics using Xestro software platform
Billing and receipting patients following consultations with Dermatologists
Supporting Doctors with administration requests such as preparation of patient charts
Rostering of reception staff to cover sick and annual leave amongst the team
In addition to the key duties and responsibilities, Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
A minimum of 2-5 years experience as a Medical Receptionist/Secretary within a similar specialist environment
Experience using a medical software platform for patient management such as Xestro (preferred) or Genie
Immaculate personal presentation
Clear and concise communication skills when speaking with patients, Doctors, team members, and other medical professionals involved with the practice
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail
Initiative to respond quickly to queries from patients and Doctors
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Remuneration:
An attractive hourly rate of $40 - $43 per hour + super will be on offer for the successful candidate, negotiable based on recent and relevant skills/experience.
