Are you a local who has a passion for helping people? We are recruiting suitable candidates to join our Riverland team to work as an Advocate in the aged care sector (more than one position).

Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS) is a not-for-profit organisation working for over 35 years providing free, independent advocacy services and rights information sessions across South Australia.

Your job is to provide information that empowers older people to make informed decisions about the care and services they receive and to stand beside them when they raise issues or concerns with aged care providers. We promote the rights of older people and ensure that that their voice is heard.

ARAS is a founding member of the national Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN), delivering the National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP) and is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health.

ARAS is a values-based organisation that is committed to its people and older South Australian’s.

ARAS offers a dynamic and diverse workplace that values individuality and teamwork. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Our team thrives on integrity, respect and a shared commitment to achieving excellence.

You will be a passionate, organised, and a driven person that wants to be part of an organisation that exists to give a voice to older people. You will have good communication skills and ideally have previous experience in the aged care or community services sectors or similar role.

Successful applicants will be required to attend our Dulwich office for induction and training for a period of up to 4 weeks. ARAS will arrange and cover accommodation costs during this period, Monday to Friday.

A position description and more information on ARAS can be found on our website: sa.agedrights.asn.au
