Position Summary:

The Storeperson plays a vital role in the daily operations of a busy food manufacturing business, managing the receipt, storage, dispatch, and occasional delivery of raw materials and finished goods. This hands-on role supports production efficiency and ensures compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.

We are seeking a reliable, physically capable, and safety-conscious individual to join our team. While previous experience in a similar environment is preferred, it is not required — training will be provided for the right candidate.

This is a full-time role with consistent daytime hours and the added benefit of a free daily lunch provided on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Goods Inward & Outward:

Receive, inspect, and check off deliveries.

Prepare and load orders for dispatch in line with delivery schedules.

Inventory Control:

Accurately maintain stock levels and conduct regular cycle counts.

Follow FIFO principles for stock rotation.

Use basic inventory systems to log stock movements.

Warehouse Operations:

Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move goods efficiently and safely.

Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and meets hygiene standards.

Store raw materials and finished products in correct temperature zones.

Production Support:

Deliver raw materials to production lines in a timely manner.

Remove waste or unused stock from production areas.

Collaborate with production and logistics teams for smooth workflows.

Delivery Driving:

Conduct local deliveries of finished goods to customers or retail outlets as required.

Safely operate company vehicles, ensuring timely and professional delivery.

Complete delivery paperwork and communicate effectively with customers.

Compliance & Safety:

Adhere to food safety, quality, and OH&S procedures at all times.

Report any hazards, incidents, or issues with equipment or stock.

Wear required PPE and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

Valid Driver’s License (manual license preferred)

Current Forklift License (LF)

Good communication and teamwork skills

Basic computer literacy

Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

Strong attention to detail and hygiene standards

Confidence driving delivery vehicles for short and medium-range routes

Preferred (but not essential):

Experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, or delivery roles

Familiarity with HACCP or food safety systems

Experience using warehouse or inventory software
