Our Federal Government Client is seeking an IT Application Developer.

This is a long-term contract for 12 months with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client’s offices in Melbourne (Docklands), Adelaide, Canberra, or Brisbane.

As the selected candidate, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain code using modern frameworks
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate on design decisions
• Implement new features and performance optimisations
• Troubleshoot issues and perform bug fixes
• Ensure application security, reliability, and compliance
• Maintain technical documentation and provide expert advice
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and delivery processes
• Mentor junior developers and support CI/CD operations

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Proficiency in Typescript and Node.js
• Experience developing cloud-native applications and microservices
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like Mocha or Chai
• Experience building Node.js microservices using Express

It is desirable if you have:

• Experience with AWS Lambda, API Development, and AWS DocumentDB
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Google Apigee
• Exposure to AWS services like IaaS, Fargate, Kinesis, and CloudWatch
• Experience with containerisation and implementing custom rules engines
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in Agile teams
• Experience mentoring others and sharing technical knowledge
