Your Next Employer
This agribusiness is at the forefront of orchard development in Victoria, operating with a clear strategy for sustainable growth that benefits local communities. Here, tradition blends with cutting-edge methods, and every season brings an opportunity to raise the bar for Australia's agri-sector.
The Role
You will be working closely with the Orchard Manager and broader leadership team to manage operations on our clients' Almond property located in Katunga. The site has seen rapid development, with 488 hectares planted in 2024 and a further 220 hectares scheduled for 2025. The team on your section of the orchard consists of eight full-time staff, with plans to grow the team to 13-14 by the end of 2025.
You’ll play a critical role in day-to-day orchard activities, ensuring smooth operations, implementing training programs, and maintaining orchard infrastructure. You'll also oversee stock management, spray programs, and maintenance schedules while leveraging technology (AgWorld and spreadsheets) to track operations and drive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and allocate daily orchard activities.
- Train and mentor orchard staff, ensuring skill development and high performance.
- Maintain orchard infrastructure, machinery, and fleet.
- Monitor and enforce health & safety procedures, working alongside external consultants for compliance.
- Utilise AgWorld and other tracking tools for planning, reporting, and task scheduling.
- Track weather conditions and adjust operations accordingly.
What You Bring
We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds - whether you're an Orchard Manager on a smaller property looking for greater scope or a Leading-Hand / Supervisor / Senor Farm Hand ready to step up. What matters most is your ability to:
- Lead, train, and develop teams with strong people management skills.
- Take a proactive approach to orchard operations with a keen eye for detail.
- Apply mechanical know-how - experience with machinery and fleet maintenance is a plus.
- Communicate effectively in a way that empowers the team - more carrot, less stick.
What You’ll Gain
- Competitive Package: Up to circa $160k package - $90k - $110k (neg) + Super + work ute + house.
- Professional Development: 5% of your salary allocated for training and development - in addition to base salary
- Career Growth: Be part of an expanding operation with long-term development opportunities.
