The Role

As Assistant Farm Manager, you will:

Support the Farm Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations.

Supervise, work hands on and mentor farm workers, machinery operators, and casual labourers.

Ensure animal welfare standards are maintained, aligning with Carr Farming’s commitment to the Five Freedoms.

Assist in implementing sustainability initiatives and managing farm resources responsibly.

Monitor bird health, conduct welfare checks, and ensure compliance with RSPCA and biosecurity regulations.

Contribute to operational excellence by supporting farm maintenance and troubleshooting minor machinery issues.

This role is perfect for a hands-on leader looking to grow their career in a values-driven agricultural environment.

About You

You are an aspiring agricultural leader with:

Minimum 2 years of experience in poultry or livestock farming.

Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising farm teams.

Understanding of animal welfare standards and biosecurity protocols.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting.

A passion for sustainability and ethical farming practices.

Computer skills & knowledge

Ability to maintain records

A Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field is desirable.
