Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria. GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.
About the role
You will join the Strategy and Policy team within the Strategy and Service Planning Division, where risk management is a key driver of strategic success. The Strategy and Policy team is a future-focused team who leads GMW’s strategic thinking and planning. In this role, you will:
Lead and enhance risk management by owning and maintaining GMW’s risk management framework, ensuring integration into strategic and operational decisions.
Drive a strong risk culture by advocating for risk management principles across the organisation, providing advice, training and practical tools.
Oversee emergency management and business continuity by maintaining and improving critical documentation while supporting staff training and preparedness.
Manage GMW’s insurance program as part of the risk transfer strategy.
This role is based in Tatura with hybrid work arrangements available.
What do you need?
Demonstrated experience in corporate risk management, ideally within a government, utility, or regulated industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
