The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Curriculum Division in the VCE Curriculum Unit for a fixed term full-time position.
- Salary: $121250 - $132762 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)
- Fixed term till 2 March 2026
- Usual hours of work: Full time
- Usual work location: 200 Victoria Parade East Melbourne
Role purpose
The role supervises a small team to manage VCAA's offshore licencing and quality assurance framework for the VCE and support the undertaking of the General Achievement Test (GAT) in VCE licensed offshore schools. The International Team is responsible for assessing VCE offshore license applications, and once accepted, to monitor and manage the VCE offshore license agreements. International travel is expected in this role.
The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others, as well as an understanding of the processes and structures to operate licencing and quality assurance systems.
The team provides high level information, creates program material to support offshore teachers, advice and support to key stakeholders and partner schools.
About the unit
The role is located within the VCE Curriculum Unit, reporting to the VCE Curriculum Unit Manager, in the Curriculum Division.
As part of its work as a global education leader, the VCAA licences the VCE for delivery internationally. This creates opportunity for Victorian schools, teachers and students to engage globally. It also improves the international recognition and acceptance of Victorian school education qualifications, particularly the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).

Experience and qualifications
Essential:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support a small team by setting clear priorities, managing workloads effectively, and driving high performance to achieve strategic objectives.
- Experience working with international education sector and transnational.
- Experience in leading program management, in particular, identifying program risks and issues and developing effective management strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in education, international relations, public policy or a related field
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to represent the organisation with professionalism and cultural sensitivity in diverse educational and governmental settings.
Desirable:
- Experience providing guidance and support to offshore teachers, school leaders and administrators in a culturally responsive manner.
- Experience with quality assurance processes in an educational context.
- Demonstrated understanding of the delivery of school-based curriculum in offshore settings
- Knowledge of curriculum frameworks, particularly the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).
