About the role
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for Manager Communications and Engagement to join Icon Water.
This role leads the strategic development and delivery of the Icon Water brand strategy to support our organisational vision of creating a sustainable water legacy. This includes leading a team that manages community and internal communications and engagement, encompassing all digital platforms, brand management, marketing, and all associated consumer behaviour change and community support programs.

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Lead the strategic development and co-ordinated delivery of organisational-wide brand strategy in collaboration with key internal stakeholders including Executives and the Board, monitor brand positioning and identify critical business objectives for customers and the community.
Maintain strategic oversight and lead a skilled team to deliver all marketing, media, education, community support and communications programs internally and externally including setting creative direction and positioning the brand to take advantage of future opportunities.
Provide strategic advice to Executives and senior leaders on complex and publicly sensitive risks and issues, and coordinate response to media issues across a 24/7 business.
Participate in and at times lead Icon Water’s Public Information Office (PIO) during incidents and emergencies.
In consultation with the External Relations Advisor and Manager Customer Advocacy and Experience, oversee the development of community engagement plans for major projects or rolling programs that consider community segmentation, and potential impact and define appropriate engagement techniques.
Provide the organisation with the means to communicate effectively across all business areas in a timely and relevant manner. This will include managing the different platforms for communication internally and externally including the intranet, website, traditional media and social media (aligned to Media Strategy) and other digital platforms/portals.
Provide best practice measures, metrics and reporting which includes meaningful evidence-based analysis to enable the organisation to make informed decisions in the brand and community communications and engagement space, clearly articulating value and return on investment.
Other duties within the employee’s skill, competence and training.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Communications or Marketing or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in the strategic development of communications, marketing and community engagement plans including identifying and managing major risks and opportunities.
Demonstrated experience in the successful execution of communications, media, marketing and community engagement plans using traditional channels and digital platforms.
Experience in providing strategic advice in a complex customer, community and regulatory environment.
Advanced knowledge and strong experience in selecting effective and contemporary communications and engagement techniques and evaluating their effectiveness against business objectives.
Extensive experience building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups combined with the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes/points of view.
Experience in influencing and communicating at all levels of management in a complex and diverse organisation.
