Remuneration: Standard industry rates – based on level of experience

Hour per week: 30.4 - 45.6 hours per fortnight (negotiable)

The Lymphoedema Lounge & Breast Oncology Therapy is seeking an experienced occupational therapist or physiotherapist to join our dedicated and compassionate team in our Redcliffe clinic, North of Brisbane. We are looking for an OT or PT who is certified in lymphatic treatment with experience in manual lymphatic drainage and compression garment measuring and prescription.

The Lounge is a highly recognised and supportive centre with a valued, dedicated and innovative approach to treatment in this area. It maintains a strong collaboration with medical and allied health care teams. The Lounge focuses on service excellence and providing expert level care to our clients.

As an OT or PT at The Lymphoedema Lounge, you will play a key role in helping adults manage chronic conditions such as lymphoedema and lipoedema, and rehabilitating patients post breast cancer surgery. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, working in a supportive and caring environment. Our team currently includes OT’s, a remedial massage therapist, a clinical nurse specialist and receptionist.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting initial assessments with clients to identify lymphatic disorders and patients with lipoedema and developing treatment plans to improve their overall health, mobility, and quality of life.

Working with women post breast cancer treatment to manage post-surgical scarring, mobility of the upper limb, and lymphoedema concerns.

Performing manual lymphatic drainage (massage) and providing education to clients on how to perform this at home.

Identifying patients who require compression therapy and measuring, ordering and fitting garments.

Mobilisation exercises to regain range of motion and/or to help with lymphatic movement.

Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records using electronic software (Cliniko).

Ideal Candidates

We are looking for a therapist who:

Shows a high degree of initiative, reliability and autonomy.

Is respectful, kind and passionate.

Is skilled in developing and maintaining positive relationships within the team, with clients, external stakeholders and referrers.

Has exceptional communication skills both on the phone if needing to liaise with key stakeholders and through written letters/reports to the treating medical team.

Our ideal candidate must:

Be AHPRA registered as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.

Have completed their lymphoedema training.

Have a current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance policy.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Proficient in the use electronic note taking to support clinical practice.

Excellent time management skills

Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of clients and their families.
