About the Client

We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with proven expertise in both the front and back end of Chris 21 and Kronos to join a publicly listed, well-established organisation in the dairy and FMCG sector. This is a contract/temporary position based in Southbank, Victoria, with the potential for extension beyond the initial end date of November 2025.

About the Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the payroll function during a critical period of system enhancement and business transformation. This position will see you working across both operational and technical aspects of the payroll process, including systems configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and payroll delivery using Chris 21 and Kronos.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for a large, complex workforce using Chris 21 and Kronos.
• System support, testing, and configuration tasks within Chris 21 and Kronos (including time & attendance modules).
• Troubleshooting issues within payroll data and system workflows.
• Assisting with upgrades, patches, and implementation of system enhancements.
• Producing accurate payroll reports and analytics for internal stakeholders.
• Liaising with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure payroll data integrity.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant industrial instruments, tax, and superannuation obligations.

Key Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with both front-end and back-end functionality of Chris 21 and Kronos.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, and award interpretation.
• Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot system issues effectively.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in large, high-volume payroll environments is highly desirable.
