THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Demi Chef to join the renowned Gold Coast restaurant, Isla Cantina (Mulpha Restaurant Pty Ltd) and Caldisc Pty Ltd.

Isla Cantina offers fresh dishes and drinks list in a newly renovated, coastal-inspired space with panoramic views of Gold Coast skyline.

The role you will work closely with our Venue Manager and Head Chef and is a great opportunity to learn and develop your skills in your hospitality career.

This is a full-time position with Isla Cantina (Mulpha Restaurant Pty Ltd) and Caldisc Pty Ltd. offering a salary range of $ $70,000 to $75,000 (plus superannuation) depending on experience.

Working closely with the senior Kitchen team, the Demi Chef will:

• Assist the Head Chef in minimising food waste and establishing waste control measures.
• Ensure stock rotation and the organised and hygienic storage of food
• Assist the Head Chef with the daily management of the venue
• Ensure food and menu quality is at its highest and meets set standards
• Assist in the reduction of food waste by following portion control standards
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the kitchen at all times

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A passion for food & ability to work independently
• A team player attitude, displayed in both internal kitchen teams and the greater business
• A high standard of personal presentation and standard of hygiene
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and seeking the opportunity to learn and develop professionally
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
• Own transport

Must have flexible availability to assist in fulfilling busy weekends and weeknights.
