The Opportunity
Tasracing, Tasmania's Principal Racing Authority, is seeking an experienced Stipendiary Steward to help maintain fairness, transparency, and compliance across all codes of racing. If you have a deep understanding of racing operations, strong decision-making skills, and a passion for upholding integrity, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact.
As a Stipendiary Steward, you’ll ensure compliance with the Rules of Racing and support the Chairman of Stewards. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of race days, trials, inspections, and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
Support the conduct of race meetings, trials, and inspections, ensuring compliance with the Rules of Racing.
Assist in the Tasracing Integrity Unit inquiries and investigations.
Monitor betting activities, conduct post-race reviews, and support the appeals process.
Lead swabbing procedures and manage the preparation and despatch of samples.
Mentor and guide less experienced stewards on regulatory and compliance matters.
Provide advice and support to clubs, officials, and industry participants on regulatory issues.
Manage administrative tasks related to stewards' records, race field information, and regulatory databases.
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
Good understanding of the Rules of Racing, procedures for race meetings, inquiries, and appeals.
Ability to guide and mentor less experienced stewards, fostering a collaborative environment.
Confidence to make operational decisions while applying policy, rules, and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
Be a strong team player.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
