We're partnering with a global, fast-growing retailer to find a driven Financial Accountant to join their high-performing Melbourne-based finance team. This business has become a major player in the fashion space and offers exciting exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Preparation of general journals, accruals, and supporting documentation
• Balance Sheet reconciliations and follow-ups
• Month-end reporting and meeting strict close timelines
• Investigating reconciling items and analysing GL balances
• Reviewing weekly payment runs
• Preparation of GST/VAT returns and responding to related queries
• Supporting internal and external audit requests
• Contributing to process improvements and ad hoc financial analysis

SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified (or actively studying, ideally with only 3 subjects remaining)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within a fast-paced business
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and reconciliation skills
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and finance systems
• Positive attitude, confident communication style, and strong attention to detail
• Retail or consumer industry experience is a bonus, but not essential
