Environment, Health, Safety & Quality Officer

Huntsman Polyurethanes Australia Pty Limited is now searching for an Environment, Health, Safety & Quality Officer. This is a full-time role working hours Monday to Friday of a range of $73,000 - $77,000 base salary.

In this position you will provide leadership and support for Environment, health, safety and quality activities, including managing health and safety hazards and having an appreciation of environmental and quality risks.

As an Environment, Health, Safety & Quality Officer, you will:

Participate in the training of personnel in health and safety hazards of raw materials, intermediates, and products.

Ensure compliance to management systems (ISO 9001 or other as determined by Business)

Develop, implement, and maintain the Corporation’s Occupational Hygiene strategy, including the hygiene monitoring plan and health surveillance program.

Provide expertise and consult in corporate occupational hygiene, from simple to complex issues (including asbestos, radiation, fluoridation, and noise) and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to control the risk

Oversee the development and continuous improvement of ISO protocol, process and procedures.

Assist in maintaining ISO, EHS, and PS documentation including SOP’s and manuals.

Collaborate with site teams to address ISO issues, complaints and investigations; and recommend corrective actions

Skills and experiences required:

Tertiary qualifications in chemical related field (e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering, occupational hygiene or equivalent). Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Minimum of 5 years in chemical or related industry.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, codes and standards.

Proven experience implementing, executing, and supporting site programs, projects or equivalent (inclusion of hygiene and EHSQ programs beneficial).

Understanding and ability to implement management systems to comply with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 or equivalent.
