About the Role

As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Officer, you will play a hands-on role in supporting Council’s health, safety, and wellbeing objectives. Working closely with the Coordinator and Business Partners, you will help implement safety initiatives, support compliance efforts, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

What You’ll Do

• Provide frontline support on workplace safety, wellbeing, and injury management matters.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Support safety training, toolbox talks, and wellbeing programs.
• Help ensure Council meets its OHS and child safety obligations.

What You’ll Bring

• A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Wellbeing, or a related field.
• Experience in an OHS, safety, or wellbeing role, ideally in a local government or similar environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to workplace safety.
• The ability to engage with employees and promote a positive safety culture.
