Our client is a dynamic private practice accounting firm based on St Kilda Road, providing high-quality financial services to a wide range of clients, primarily small to medium-sized businesses. Our clients team prides itself on delivering personalized service and fostering strong relationships with our clients. We're looking for an Accountant to join there close-knit team and help them continue to grow.

Role Overview:
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, providing them with expert financial advice and tailored solutions. You’ll play a key role in managing a portfolio of small to medium-sized businesses, delivering both technical accounting services and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized business clients
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting reports
• Provide strategic advice to clients on their financial operations, ensuring they understand their financial position
• Assist clients with Xero accounting software, including training and troubleshooting
• Foster and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact
• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required
• Contribute to the growth and success of the firm

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Must have 2+ years of experience in public practice accounting!
• CPA qualified (preferred, but not essential)
• Experience working with Xero accounting software is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills with the ability to face clients and build lasting relationships
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
