Flowers Vasette - Assistant Buyer Flowers - Career Opportunity

Established in 1989, Flowers Vasette is Australia’s leading floral destination, recognised for quality, creativity and service. With the addition of two news stores this year at Chadstone and Mecca, Vasette is looking for an Assistant Buyer to support the Procurement team.

This role is part of a long-term strategic investment in our Buying Team and suited to someone who sees procurement as the next steps in their floristry career lifestyle.

While the hours may be unconventional, they reflect the unique rhythm of the industry and offer an opportunity to be part of the creative heartbeat of the business.

About the Role:

Early mornings - 2.30am starts Tuesday and Thursday and 6am starts on the other days.

Assist the Head Buyer ordering and procuring stock and accompanying them to the wholesale markets in Epping; learning about the suppliers and their products.

Deliver the flowers and foliage to our warehouse in Port Melbourne and other stores.

Load and unload the truck/van.

Administration tasks such as printing order lists, updating spreadsheets, checking and collating invoices.

Primary point of contact for the Events team, workroom for upcoming stock requirements.

Order from growers both local and overseas.

Select alternatives when stock in unavailable - a thorough knowledge of flowers and foliage is essential.

Look for interesting or hard to find products.

The hours are flexible between 24 and 38 hours, Tuesday to Saturday.

About You:

Early morning person.

Minimum 3 years floral experience essential

C-Class licence (automatic)

Negotiation skills

Team spirit and optimism, friendly and welcoming disposition

Physically fit and able to lift buckets

Microsoft Office (intermediate)

A drive to learn and work with energy and stamina for the busy times
