Full of Heart Music Studios is a fun, inclusive and fantastic music studio in the heart of Moonee Ponds. As we start a brand new year, we are to looking to expand our team!

We are looking for a vocal teacher who can also teach piano. Your must be competent with singing and vocal teaching, and piano teaching is secondary. Piano students will usually be beginner/intermediate, so you are not required to be an advanced pianist.

This role will be taking over our current vocal and piano teacher, who has also been teaching students the guitar. If you can teach guitar as well as singing/piano, this will serve as an advantage.

Full of Heart Music Studios currently offers tuition in voice, piano, guitar to students of all ages.

The role will involve taking on students from the previous teacher, and we are looking for a candidate who can teach on Tuesday and Friday (From roughly 3:30pm-8:30pm) and Saturday (From roughly 9:00am-4:00pm).

A candidate who can teach multiple instruments would be favoured, and if you are a singing teacher with basic piano and/or guitar skills, this will serve as advantage. A candidate with teaching experience, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent skill level is highly desired. We may consider University graduates and candidates with minimal experience, so please don’t hesitate to submit your application if you are new to the teaching industry.

The successful candidates will need to have a caring and patient approach when dealing with students of all levels and ages. There are many children undertaking music lessons, so the candidate will need to be confident with teaching children, but also have the ability to change their teaching style when working with teenagers and adults.

The successful candidates will be required to:

Help the student develop competent finger technique through scales, exercises and any other relevant technical work.

Make the student feel comfortable in their lessons and have a bright, bubbly personality

Teach students repertoire of their choice, as well as repertoire the teacher believes will help them improve their skills

Teach students theory and how to read music to the best of their ability

Communicate with students outside lessons from time to time, and alter your own timetable

Have flexibility in your timetable to take on extra students (a minimum of 2 afternoons/evening availability)

Help students develop into well rounded musicians by encouraging aural testing, sight reading and teaching theory

Help prepare students for exams and performances

Knowledge of the ANZCA and AMEB requirements, as well as the ability to teach a secondary instrument will serve as a great advantage, but not essential.

Candidates are required to commit to 12 months of employment and will receive a pay rate of $36.00ph + superannuation
