The Role

As a Corporate Paralegal, you will be working for an International Law Firm. Duties include -

• Registrations of public, proprietary and foreign companies;
• Maintaining and updating the corporate registers for large number of local subsidiary companies and foreign registered companies;
• Ensuring compliance of companies with requirements under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth);
• Drafting documents to effect changes to companies including but not limited to change to directors, issue and transfer of shares, share buy-backs, application of class orders; change of name and change of company type and deregistration;
• Drafting AGM and board of director minutes;
• Transactional matters including preparation of pre and post closing documentation in relation to acquisition and disposal of companies;
• Registering business names;
• ASIC Industry Funding and ASIC Regulatory Portal lodgements;
• Overseeing ASIC filings and search requests for related practice groups within Baker & McKenzie;
• Conducting legal audits of corporate registers;
• Conducting due diligence;
• Reconstructing register of members and records; and
• Providing assistance and information to local and international offices regarding corporate practices in Australia.

Your experience

You will have a minimum of 3 years Corporate Paralegal or Corporate Legal assistant experience.

The Law Firm/ Benefits / Salary

Well established international law firm. Brisbane office has 25 staff. You can purchase extra annual leave and Friday night drinks. Salary negotiable dependent upon experience ($90,000 to $140,000 package including super).
