Your Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate Community Navigator to join our team and support individuals in accessing essential services, resources, and opportunities within the community.
As a Community Navigator, you will work closely with individuals and local organisations to provide guidance, advocacy, and support tailored to the community's needs.
This is an identified position under section 14(D) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and all applicants must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australians. Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational qualification.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Assist individuals in navigating local services, including healthcare, housing, employment, and social support.
- Build relationships with community members and service providers to enhance access to resources.
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness about available programs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on service delivery and outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve service accessibility and effectiveness
Requirements for Success
- Relevant degree or associate diploma with relevant experience gained through previous industry experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a community development capacity
- Experience in community consultation, facilitation, partnership development and project management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, engagement skills including the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Strong level of computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages
- Driver's licence with no restrictions
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, work right checks and reference checks and WWCC.
