About the opportunity:

Position: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Trainee (Identified)

Vacancy: Fixed term temporary full-time, 18 months

Location: Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
• Certificate IV Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
• Diploma Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.

• Mandatory: Enrolment in one of the following:
• On completion of the required qualification within 18 months from date of commencement, subject to successful performance, will be offered direct appointment to an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker HWF2 role upon receipt of the mandatory qualification.
• It is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
• Possession of class C drivers' licence.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance, Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card Checks.
