Position: Experienced Schema Therapist – Clinical or Registered Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced Schema Therapist (Standard or Advanced level) who enjoys the experiential elements of Schema and has a background in Clinical or Registered Psychology to join our innovative, multidisciplinary team at Esus Centre. This role is ideal for a therapist passionate about evidence-based, collaborative care who has experience in eating disorder treatment or would like to expand their Schema Practice into this field. Group experience is desirable.

In collaboration with internationally renowned Schema Therapist Susan Simpson, Esus Centre has developed a group Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders program which is yielding excellent outcomes for participants. We currently have demand for three consecutive streams.

Esus Centre is an integrated and multi-disciplinary day-patient service offering tailored treatment ranging from daily intensive support (as an alternative to inpatient admissions) to low-intensity groups addressing comorbid barriers to recovery to out-patient services. Our team comprises psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, social workers and nurses, alongside on-site GP-led medical monitoring.

In this role, you will:

Conduct assessments for group Schema Therapy

Deliver schema therapy utilising a co-facilitator model

Enhance your skills in working with individuals recovering from eating disorders

Receive support and peer-supervision both individually and as part of the Schema team

Be involved in the co-ordination and direction of future schema programs

Work individually as part of the out-patient team, if desired

Participate in evaluation and quality improvement processes for the schema program

Collaborate on presentations and research papers

Essential Criteria:

Registration with AHPRA as a Clinical or Registered Psychologist

Certification in Schema Therapy (Standard or Advanced, ISST-accredited)

Strong commitment to evidence-based practices

Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically as a schema therapist

Collaborative team approach and excellent communication skills
