About the Position

We are looking for an experienced cleaner to join our team at the City of Bayswater on a fixed-term, full-time basis. The hours of work will vary based on a 3-month rotating roster structured around morning (5.00am – 1.30pm) and afternoon shifts (1.00pm – 9.30pm), along with working one weekend per month. You will maintain various sites across the City, including but not limited to public toilets, changerooms, libraries, and community centres, using a City van.

Key responsibilities include performing general cleaning duties to a high standard, managing cleaning products and equipment safely, responding to additional tasks, and maintaining equipment. You will ensure safety protocols are followed, report issues, and maintain communication with your Supervisor. Adherence to the City’s values, policies, and safety culture is essential.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in general commercial cleaning who can work well both independently and as part of a team. You should have a basic understanding of written and oral communication, including the ability to follow instructions and work schedules. A good awareness of cleaning products, safety procedures, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) is essential. The ideal candidate is committed to safe working practices, meets deadlines, and follows the City’s values and Code of Conduct. You will work cooperatively with colleagues and foster a positive, inclusive environment where everyone is treated with respect.

You must also possess a valid ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence. Training in the safe use of chemicals and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.
