About the Role
As our HR and Rostering Officer, you'll be the go-to person for coordinating staff rosters and supporting our HR functions. You'll work closely with our Clients, Service Coordinators, Support Workers, and Management team to ensure the right candidates are hired, shifts are filled efficiently, compliance is maintained, and staff are supported in their roles.
What We Are Looking For
Relevant Degree/Certificate in Human Resources.
Minimum of 2years' experience in HR, rostering, or scheduling (NDIS or community services preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and ability to juggle competing priorities
Familiarity with rostering systems such as Brevity
A proactive mindset and team-focused approach
Knowledge of Fair Work and award requirements (desirable)
Requirements
Strong Work Ethics
Experience in rostering, or HR admin (NDIS or healthcare preferred)
Familiarity with rostering software such as Brevity
Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
Current QLD Working with Children Check – ‘Blue Card’ and NDIS worker screening clearance
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
Evidence of Australian Work Rights.
Current Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain staff rosters to ensure appropriate shift coverage
Respond to unplanned leave or changes in staff availability
Engage in end-to-end recruitment, including advertising, screening, and onboarding
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Monitor compliance, including certifications and police checks
Assist with HR queries and staff communications
Work collaboratively with the broader operations and care teams
Develop and implement rosters to ensure appropriate distribution of workload and optimize productivity.
Collaborate with internal team members to identify and address staffing needs and challenges.
Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees and management.
Maintain accurate employee records and databases related to rosters, schedules, and time off.
Provide consistent rostering and scheduling updates to management regularly.
Monitor and analyze labour costs and work with management to implement cost-saving measures.
Perform administrative duties such as answering the company phone and managing general enquiries
Be part of the on-call roster to attend to urgent staffing issues outside of standard hours
Oversee training for new and existing team members.
Conduct staff performance and appraisal in alignment with the company's guidelines.
