Who are you:

Penny for Pound are looking for a kitchen hand / store person who is looking to enter the hospitality industry, and has a current drivers license. Ideally you have previous experience in a small to medium sized business in hospitality or food manufacturing. You are a friendly, well spoken team player with flexibility in scope of work and are happy to get their hands dirty. You are relaible, punctual, and team orientated.

This role requires an early start time of 5am, and some weekend availability.

Job Description:

As the Penny for Pound kitchen hand / storeperson you will be the backbone of our bakery operations, assisting all departments to ensure they have what they need at the appropriate time, and keeping all areas of operation in a clean and tidy manner. We are a 24/7 operation and are looking for people to assist with sending and receiving morning deliveries, stock control, dishes, general cleanliness and support across our HQ. Some manual handling is required to complete this role.

A Normal Day:

5am start, pack and deliver pastries and bread to our retail venues using company van.

Receive and rotate pallets of flour using pallet jack and FIFO principles

Checking off and unpacking deliveries of ingredients and packaging, organizing storage areas and rotating stock on hand.

Weigh up or prepare raw ingredients for kitchen team, pack away finished goods, or tray up prepared food items

Dishes, mopping floor, rubbish disposal, general cleaning.

Job Description:

Packing, checking and delivering orders to our stores and wholesale customers using the company van.

Receiving goods and checking against invoices, flagging any problems with management

Keeping all storage areas clean, functional and organised

Cleaning, dishwashing and general kitchen hand work will be a part of this role

Moving pallets and goods using a pallet jack

Stocking shelves and stacking heavy goods safely.

Rotating stock and tracking movement between departments and stores

Re-fuelling, moving and unloading delivery vans

KPI’s:

Timely delivery of goods to venues, and delivered in perfect condition

Safely operate machinery including company delivery van, pallet jacks, kitchen machinery etc

Accuracy in picking and receiving goods

Ability to manage time, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently

Compliance with all workplace and food safety measures

Storage areas well maintained, tidy, and stock rotated
