Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organised Orthodontic Receptionist/Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and provide exceptional customer service while managing the daily administrative tasks of our orthodontic practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Reception Responsibilities:
Greet and Check-in Patients: Welcome patients with a warm and professional demeanor, confirming appointments and gathering necessary patient information.
Appointment Scheduling: Manage the practice's calendar by scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments using orthodontic office software.
Answer Phone Calls and Emails: Address patient inquiries, provide information about treatments, appointment availability, and clinic policies.
Patient Registration: Ensure all patient records are accurate and complete, including insurance information, consent forms, and medical history.
Office Administration: Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying, and scanning documents.
Assist with Treatment Coordination: Work closely with orthodontists and clinical staff to ensure patients receive timely care and treatment information.
Maintain a Clean Reception Area: Ensure the front desk and waiting area are clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors.
Key Dental Assisting Responsibilities:
Preparing clinic for patients
Chair side assisting orthodontist and auxiliaries
Infection control practice
Patient care
Patient instructions
Some reception and administration duties
Laboratory work
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in dental/medical office administration is a plus.
Experience: Prior experience in a dental or orthodontic office is preferred but not required. Customer service or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using dental or medical office management software, as well as general office equipment. Familiarity with orthodontic terminology is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and doctors.
Organisational Skills: Must be detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and time management skills.
