Senior Speech Pathologist - Adult Acute Services (Grade 3)

Ballarat Campus

Permanent Full Time - 80 hours fortnight (including monthly ADO)

Are you a Grade 3 Clinician looking for a change, or a Grade 2 looking to take the next step in your career? Grampians Health is looking for passionate and highly skilled Senior Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic and progressive team in Ballarat. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent position in regional and rural public health as a Grade 3 Senior Clinician.

As the Grade 3 Senior Speech Pathologist in acute speech pathology services, you will work with the MDT in the management of complex communication and swallowing disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will have the opportunity to teach and lead VFSS, FEES, tracheostomy and laryngectomy competencies. Individualised support in these extended and advanced practice areas of work will be provided by a Grade 4 Clinical Lead Speech Pathologist.

Key Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Certified Practicing Membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Current drivers licence

Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • A minimum of seven years' experience, including significant experience in working with adults in the acute care setting and preferably a post-graduate qualification in the relevant clinical area of practice
  • Advanced knowledge of assessment treatment and management options for adult clients with swallowing and communication difficulties and a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, implement and review quality improvement activities, and positively influence change as required
