Are you a highly organised, detail-oriented administrator? We are looking for our next Executive Officer to provide executive and secretariat support to the department. This may include supporting boards and other similar bodies under DPLH’s functions.
Our Executive Officers work closely with departmental officers, their team and relevant boards and bodies to provide high-level executive support. As the Executive Officer, you will provide confidential administrative, secretarial, office management and research support.
Successful candidates placed as Executive Officers to Boards will additionally perform research, prepare reports, agenda items and present information and submissions to the Board.
We have two permanent, full-time position available for our new Executive Officer. One in our Board Support team in the Land Use Management division, the other in the Stakeholder Engagement team in our Heritage and Property Services division. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.
Located in Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.
To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience in a high level executive and/or board support role, including the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of governance principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including other team members, Chairs and board members, Aboriginal people, and regional stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in coordination of administrative systems and processes, and ability to guide process improvement.
Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency. The expected behaviours may be assessed during the recruitment and selection process.
