About the role:
The HSU is excited to recruit a new Assistant Accountant to the Finance division of the Union. This is a full-time permanent role based in our Sydney CBD Head Office.
The primary focus of the Assistant Accountant role is to support the Union with the day to day accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts payable and weekly creditor payment runs.
Processing and reconciliation of staff expenses & credit card transactions
Assisting with financial transactions and monthly reconciliations
Reconciliation of memberships fees received with the CRM program.
Cashflow analysis and reporting
Bank reconciliations
Have active involvement with systems / process improvement and ad-hoc projects
Essential Skills and Experience:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
Demonstrated ability to apply initiative and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a positive work ethic
Excellent organizational skills and time management
High proficiency with current office technology and equipment including computer packages such as Microsoft Office Suite and MYOB
Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate with people at all levels
Remuneration:
$89,740 + 11.5% (12% for females) Employee Superannuation Contributions
