About the role
Reporting to the Logistics & Maintenance Manager, GFC is looking for a Mechanic to assist us in maintaining our truck fleet that services the daily movement of rock lobster up and down the West Australian Coast.

Key Duties include:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs to stationary equipment, light vehicles and GFC Truck Fleet.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues

Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and regulatory standards

Maintain accurate records of services and repairs.

Assist with overseeing outsourced mechanical repairs

Assists with and provides advice on new truck builds.

What we are looking for in candidates

As a 7-day operation, we are looking for someone that is flexible in their ability to work hours which may include day and weekend shift as well as occasional work on public holidays. We are willing to discuss casual or full-time opportunities depending on the candidate, with a competitive salary available.

In addition to this flexibility, the below essential criteria are applicable:

Selection criteria

Relevant Trade Certificate

Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with Truck fleets

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing work demands.

Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays to service our Coastal Depots between Geraldton and Perth.
