We are seeking an enthusiastic Center Cook to join our team at Oakhill Family Centre.

Oakhill Family Centre is a family hub delivering high quality and inclusive early education and care for children from birth to five along with Maternal Health nurses on site. Our team of nurturing and experienced educators will partner with families to develop a play-based learning program that helps children realise their potential. Oakhill Family Centre has been rated as Exceeding National Quality Standard.

This is an incredible opportunity for an energetic and creative cook who is willing to take the next step to lead a kitchen within a supportive and rewarding environment. Each day, you'll have the joy of preparing nutritious meals for 60 children.

This is a part-time ongoing position working 30 hours per week. You will be working Monday to Friday 8:00am - 2:30pm.

About you

• You have a genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their wellbeing.
• You have knowledge of child nutrition and age-appropriate meal preparation.
• You have excellent organizational and time management skills, ready to serve food on time for the children at our service.
• A natural born leader and communicator.
• Hold a current Food Handling Certificate. Hold or are willing to obtain a WWCC and first aid certificate.

About the role

• You'll get creative! Plan and prepare appropriate menus and tasty, nutritious meals (within the Eat Right Start Right Program) for young children, and equivalent alternatives for children with food allergies or specific dietary requirements.
• You'll manage the food ordering system and remain within budget.
• You'll have a strong work ethic, and possesses a genuine passion when working with food and children.
• You'll contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis.
