About the Opportunity

The City of Adelaide’s three Community Centres play an integral role in enabling Council’s vision for the City Community to be vibrant, connected and inclusive by offering welcoming and inclusive spaces, programs and services. Our Community Centres are much loved and well-utilised by over 40,000 people each year.

As part of the City Culture Program, the Coordinator, Community Centres will oversee the day-to-day operations of the City of Adelaide’s Community Centres. You’ll offer excellent customer service, lead casual staff and volunteers, and ensure our facilities are being well used, enjoyed and promoted. Your work will help build a strong, inclusive community by supporting people to connect and thrive through our Community Centre activities and services.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing Centre bookings, ensuring smooth operations, and providing helpful insights to support the team. You’ll also collaborate with others to deliver high-quality, innovative services that meet the needs of the community.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across the following community centres:

  • Box Factory Community Centre
  • Minor Works Building Community Centre
  • North Adelaide Community Centre and Library.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Community Development practices.
  • Enthusiasm for working alongside the community to create places where people belong and can create connections.
  • Experience in office administration and the daily supervision of casual staff and volunteers, including induction, coaching and training.
  • Experience in networking, liaising, consulting and negotiating with a wide variety of people including staff, volunteers, customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and a thorough understand of, the principles and practice of good customer service.

Please be advised that this is a 0.5FTE part time fixed term parental leave cover opportunity until March 2026 with a starting salary at the Level 4 Classification commencing at $43,279 (pro rata rate) / $86,558 (full time equivalent) + 11.5% superannuation.
