They boast a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team in Australia, working in partnership with international colleagues. The company are hiring for a Principal Software Engineer - Space Tech, due to significant demand across a number of exciting projects as they embark on a period of significant growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Principal Software Engineer - Space Tech, will play a crucial role in leading multidisciplinary teams in the design, development and deployment of applications which support a variety of hardware systems. You will take ownership of various systems and practices within the software development, testing and verification processes, ensuring overall subsystem compatibility and performance. Acting as a mentor and SME within the wider business, you will implement effective working practices which encompass documentation, resource allocation and cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and deployment of software applications which support a wide variety of hardware solutions
• Ensure the alignment and capability of a multitude of complex software sub-systems, both new and legacy
• Ensure that best practices around development, testing and documentation are adhered to within the team
• Take ownership of team management, resource allocation and delivery across a variety of projects
• Ensure that cross-functional teams comply with the highest industry safety & engineering standards

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrable experience working within cross-functional engineering environments on applications which support physical hardware systems
• Expertise in a variety of programming languages such as C, C++, python, React
• Strong knowledge of development practices as version control systems such as Git, Azure DevOps & Atlassian.
• Experience in implementing best practices across design, development, testing and deployment stages
• A passion for engineering cutting-edge technological solutions, particularly within the space exploration field
• Holding or having the ability to obtain NV1 level Security Clearance in Australia
