As a Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing Trainee at Flaming North Fire Protection , you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of fire safety experts in the installation, service, and maintenance of fire safety systems across Townsville and far north QLD. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in the exciting field of fire safety, contributing to the safety and protection of businesses and communities.

Shadow fire safety technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of fire safety equipment, including. fire extinguisher, fire blankets, Fire detection & Hydrant systems.

Learn from expert tradespeople in the industry

Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on fire safety systems

Maintain detailed records of all work completed, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards

What we’re looking are looking for

What we're looking for is Prior experience in a trades or technical support role, preferably within the fire safety or related industry would be highly desirable (not mandatory)

Good physical fitness to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working at heights

A commitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk

Must hold a Manual Driver’s License, have reliable transport

Must be able to obtain a current police check (can be obtained after employment start date)

Resourceful, be self-motivated with a customer focus and good communication skills

Ability to work independently as well a strong team player

Willingness to learn and expand knowledge

Reliable, punctual and be able to work additional hours if required

Always maintain safe working conditions
