Rohde Egg Co. is a third-generation family owned and operated business located one hour from Adelaide, on the way to the beautiful Clare Valley. The operation started in 1957 with a few chickens and has evolved over the years to currently house over 100,000 free range chicken, with an additional 30,000 locked in for 2025.

In 2024 we entered a join venture with another family business and started our own rearing of day old chicks. This position will be heavily involved throughout each batch and we are currently rearing about 160,000 chickens per year.

Being a family business, we value everyone in our team as they all play their part in the process from the egg being laid, to it reaching our end consumers in the supermarket or at a cafe. Additionally, animal welfare is paramount and our Tarlee farm has been an RSPCA Approved farm for nearly 20 years.

We are really excited to be in a growing phase as we look to expand our business by taking on new opportunities and challenges. This position of Poultry Farm Manager will be an integral part of our journey.

About the Role

As Poultry Farm Manager you will oversee and be hands on with the following responsibilities:

· Flock Management – monitor feed, water, lighting, ventilation to provide optimum laying conditions.

· Poultry Husbandry – conduct routine body weighing, administrate treatments when required.

· Reporting – provide routine reporting to management and completing daily activity sheets.

· Biosecurity – adhere to strict biosecurity requirements.

· Compliance – ensure all compliance metrics are being achieved as per our requirements i.e. RSPCA.

· Maintenance – conduct preventative and as required maintenance.

· Quality Control – ensuring production and quality meets our desired standards.

· Rearing Farm – assist when require during periods of transfer and vaccinations.

About You

· 5+ year’s experience within the poultry industry in a management position.

· Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and empower your team.

· Great verbal and written communication ability.

· Excellent time management and organisational skills.

· Ability to work efficiently within a team or autonomously.

· High work ethic and passion for achieving the desired outcomes.

· Willing and able to outside of standard hours when required.
