The Opportunity

We're offering a unique opportunity for a Leading Hand – Plant Operator to join our dynamic installation and landscaping crew. From small urban pocket parks to large regional playgrounds and childcare centre fit-outs, this is a hands-on, outdoor role where every day brings something new.

If you're mechanically minded, love working outdoors, and have experience with excavators and skid steers, this is your chance to join a team that’s making a real difference in communities.

Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery including:

CAT 306 Next Gen Excavator (6T)

CAT 299c Skid Steer

HR Tipper Truck (brand new Quon CG 32 420 – preferred but not essential)

Supervise 1–2 team members on-site

Read and interpret landscape/construction plans

Demolish existing play areas and prepare base for new construction

Conduct final trim work for turf and garden spaces

Auger footings for playground equipment

Set out jobs using laser levels and site plans

Installing sandstone blocks with 360 rotating hydraulic grab attachment

Base preparation for all new concrete and synthetic surfacing

Garden and mulch installation

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar civil or landscaping role

Excavator and skid steer operation skills

GPS/3D machine control experience – highly regarded but not essential

HR Truck Licence – highly regarded but not essential

White Card and Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Ability to lead, manage time, and work independently

Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude

Willingness to travel and stay away on short-term projects (accommodation and travel fully covered)

Trustworthy, reliable, and physically fit
