This opportunity is a Senior Executive Service (SES) role for a fixed term, full-time appointment for up to five (5) years.
About the role
Join the leadership team at PoweringWA and help drive Western Australia’s Renewable Energy Transformation. We are coordinating the delivery of the critical infrastructure needed for low-emissions, reliable power supply across the State. We’re fast-tracking renewable energy projects, and working in partnership with government, industry, and regional communities to build a sustainable future for WA.
We’re looking for a passionate, results-oriented professional to play a crucial, leading role in our State’s journey to a better energy future.
You will be responsible for:
Leading and directing the operations of social performance strategies and stakeholder relations to build social license and support the delivery of the State’s energy transition.
Overseeing the modelling of social performance and communication strategies, management of stakeholder engagement and ensuring alignment between PoweringWA’s strategic goals and its messaging.
Leading multi-disciplinary team and growing staff capability through development, mentoring and coaching.
Developing and maintaining trusting and respectful relationship with stakeholders whilst driving the direction of strategic engagement initiatives.
Defining brand and advocacy strategies, and shaping the narrative around the emerging renewables industry

Our Energy Policy Group at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) oversees the provision of innovative and quality advice and initiatives that shape the energy sector for the benefit of Western Australia. PoweringWA’s role within Energy Policy is to coordinate the delivery of electricity infrastructure to support the achievement of WA’s economic diversification and energy decarbonisation goals.
