Senior Executive Service (SES) role for a fixed term, full-time appointment for up to five (5) years.

About the role

Join the leadership team at PoweringWA and help drive Western Australia’s Renewable Energy Transformation. We are coordinating the delivery of the critical infrastructure needed for low-emissions, reliable power supply across the State. We’re fast-tracking renewable energy projects, and working in partnership with government, industry, and regional communities to build a sustainable future for WA.

We’re looking for a passionate, results-oriented professional to play a crucial, leading role in our State’s journey to a better energy future.

You will be responsible for:

Leading the coordination and delivery of electricity infrastructure to achieve the government’s decarbonisation objectives.

Managing and leading teams through the provision of strategic and commercial support, and ensuring they meet performance and quality outputs.

Leading significant projects ensuring accountability to meet time, quality and budget parameters.

Providing strategic and specialist advice in relation to PoweringWA’s functions to the Deputy Director General.

Developing strategies to improve processes, showcasing your ability to deliver results, identify strategic priorities and manage the implementation of risk management strategies.

Influencing the establishment of PoweringWA as a statutory authority.

Our Energy Policy Group at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) oversees the provision of innovative and quality advice and initiatives that shape the energy sector for the benefit of Western Australia. PoweringWA’s role within Energy Policy is to coordinate the delivery of electricity infrastructure to support the achievement of WA’s economic diversification and energy decarbonisation goals.
