Established in 1963, Schreurs & Sons is a family owned and operated market garden, specialising in the production of celery, leek and baby leaf. Our produce is supplied throughout Australia, the Middle East and S.E. Asia.

We are seeking an experienced & reliable store person to join our dynamic production team located in Clyde, 3978.

You will be responsible for warehouse & dispatch duties, produce sorting and staging, ready for dispatch.

Regular daily overtime available, with overtime rates and penalties payable.

Average daily hours for full dispatch duties range between 9-10 hours.

This position is paid above the Horticulture Award [MA000028] Level 3 Employee

Dayshift Position Available:

Permanent Full-Time Day shift range between $26.00 to $30.00 (depending on experience) per hour plus OT (150%) and penalties, Estimated; 7:30am - 8:30am start - 5:00pm - 5:30pm (inclusive with daily OT).

About the role

To ensure the logistics operations within the Packing Shed / High Care Facility occurs in a timely manner, with a key focus on compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct, OH&S and Quality policies. Assisting other areas within the Packing Shed / High Care Facility should a forklift driver be required

Duties & Responsibilities

GENERAL:

• Ensure that a current forklift license is available in your name and a copy has been provided to the Administration Department
• Ensure relevant OH&S and food safety / quality policies and procedures are adhered to

PLANT / PROCESS:

• Building of orders with produce, crates and pallets, ensuring all items are ticketed and labelled and stacked ready for dispatch
• Ensure vehicles are loaded according to their allocated time slots, as set by the Shed Production Manager
• Regularly communicate with the Shed Production Manager, keeping them informed of the day’s progress, especially should there be a deviation to the scheduled loading plan which could potentially impact the customer
• Communicate with the Shed Production Manager if product is required in order to meet the scheduled loading plan
• Monitor equipment and processes, reporting any faults or damage directly to the Shed Production Manager
• Be familiar with all plant / equipment and processes within their area of responsibility
• Ensure all plant / equipment used are maintained in a clean and hygienic state, and are cleaned as required
• Maintain the coolrooms, warehouses and loading areas in a clean and tidy state
• For any issues identified with plant or premises which requires repair, inform the Shed Production Manager

PRODUCT:

• Ensure products are labelled correctly and ensuring that the outer label matches the inner units as well as the product meeting the customer’s shelf life requirements, escalating issues where necessary to the Shed Production Manager
• Pre-dispatch - daily stock on hand count each morning to ensure stock levels are adequate for order fulfilment
• Ensure that finished packed product is properly covered, as required, and transferred to the relevant storage area in a timely manner to maintain quality; for produce it is critical to maintain the cold chain
• Ensure that stock rotation is maintained of the raw produce and finished product as well as for inwards goods items such as packaging
• Ensure that products for dispatch are packed and loaded in a timely manner, ensuring all QC checks, including for product labelling, are completed and that the time finished product is kept out of refrigeration is kept to a minimum
• Assist as required, that all inwards goods, including packaging, are unloaded promptly and are moved under cover as soon as practicable to minimise exposure to the elements and relevant delivery dockets are given to the Sales Team

Qualifications & Experience

• Current Forklift License

• Ability to work in cold storage frequently
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Have past experience working in a warehousing and/or dispatch environment
• Have past experience working in a fast paced environments
